METHODS OF MANUFACTURING

SUGGESTED MATERIALS &COMPONENTS: ABS, plastic, plated steel, hardened steel, springs, hinge pins, e-clips, and rubber.

PRIMARY METHOD OF SECONDARY METHOD OF MANUFACTURING
Plastic Injection Molding - A plastic molding procedure whereby heat softened plastic material is forced under very high pressure into a metal cavity mold which is relatively cool.  Steel or aluminum are metals that are best suited for the mold components.

SECONDARY METHOD OF MANUFACTURING
Metal stamping and punching.  A process that involves a male and female die, both are machined into the shape of the desired finished product. The dies are made of hardened tool steel and are placed int he jaws of a hydraulic press.

BROAD ESTIMATE OF TOOLING COSTS
Approximate estimate is $32,000 TO $40,000.

BROAD ESTIMATE OF SECONDARY TOOLING COSTS
Approximate estimate is $14,000 TO $22,000.

ESTIMATED TIME TO FABRICATE TOOLING
Three to four months.

ESTIMATED TIME TO FABRICATE TOOLING (secondary)
Two to four months.

TOOLING SKILL LEVEL REQUIREMENTS
High skill level required, but easily available.

TOOLING SKILL LEVEL REQUIREMENTS (secondary)
Skilled knowledgeable craftsman.

AVAILABILITY OF MATERIALS
Good availability.
Note to Manufacturer - Raw materials such as plastic and metal components may be substituted by you the manufacturer.  It may be entirely possible to use your current stockpile of materials to create a test production run of the "EasyGrind" Rechargeable Coffee and Spice Grinder.

ESTIMATED PRODUCTION CYCLE (Overall Production)
The overall time required to manufacture the "EasyGrind" takes into account all of the manufacturing processes presented a s well as the necessary man hour requirements.  The estimated production time is between 6-15 man minutes per unit.  The hinge components are considered "off the shelf", resulting in a savings in tooling cost to the manufacturer.

PACKAGING CONSIDERATIONS
The best method of packaging the EasyGrind would be the conventional transparent clear packaging showing the product as point of sale to the consumer. All packaging should have the Universal Product Code (UPC) on the outside of the product. Simple operating instructions should be included for the consumer.
